Clayton Williams

Clayton is an equity analyst for the Harbert Value Fund, a long/short hedge fund based in Birmingham, Alabama. The Harbert Value Fund is sponsored by Harbert Management Corporation, an alternative asset management firm with $4bn in assets under management. Clayton previously worked as an analyst at Martin & Company, an investment firm in Knoxville, Tennessee with over $2bn in assets under management. At Martin & Company, Clayton was responsible for credit analysis for the firm’s corporate bond portfolio and for portfolio management duties, such as leading the launch and management of the firm’s Treasury Inflation Protected Securities product. 

Clayton received his MBA from Columbia Business School in 2010, where he was awarded the Feldberg Fellowship. Clayton was also selected for the Applied Value Investing Program and served as the Co-Editor of Graham & Doddsville, the School’s investment newsletter. While at Columbia, he worked as a summer intern at Brandes Investment Partners in San Diego. Clayton earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 2003, graduating summa cum laude with a double major in Finance and Accounting. Clayton is a CFA charterholder. 

Clayton is a native of Kingston, a small town in East Tennessee, and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, and tennis.
