Marina Severinovsky

Marina Severinovsky was born to a Russian-speaking family in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1988 she, together with her parents and grandparents, emigrated via Austria and Italy, settling in the US (in New York) as political/religious refugees from the Soviet regime.

Marina attended Columbia College at Columbia University as a John Jay Scholar, earning a dual-major Economics and Political Science BA, magna cum laude, in 2004. She worked during and after college as an analyst in finance, economics and accounting consulting, in the context of litigation and regulatory review activities. In late 2004, Marina joined the founding team of a start-up legal technology and process consulting practice, which provided technology optimization solutions to large law firms and corporate legal departments. Marina worked in consulting and client relationship management, growing the company’s brand and revenues.

Following her entrepreneurial stint, Marina attended Columbia Business School and recruited, as a career-switcher, into finance. At CBS, she was active with Columbia Women in Business (CWIB) as VP-Professional Development and the Columbia Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) as VP-Events, went on Chazen trips to China and India, and planned multiple Russian-culture themed cluster outings in NYC.

Marina did her summer internship in investment banking, in the Media & Telecom and Healthcare industry coverage groups at Citi Capital Markets & Banking, and joined the Healthcare group after graduation in 2009. While at Citi, Marina supported buy- and sell-side mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt transactions, and fairness opinions for a broad range of corporate clients.

Since 2010, Marina has worked for Schroders, the UK-based asset manager. She is currently an Investment Director in the Quantitative Equities group, having previously been an Investment Strategist and an Alternatives Specialist on other investment desks. In all of her roles, she has been responsible for driving and supporting the development of Schroders’ business in the Americas, and over the years her product management activities have covered multiple strategies, including Global, International, EM and US equities, US Fixed Income, Securitized Credit, Commodities, Emerging Markets Debt, Hedge Fund of Funds, Insurance Linked Securities, and Real Assets. She holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 certifications.
