Gairy C. Hall Jr. 

Gairy Hall is a Principal and Client Relationship Manager in the Global Private Equity segment of the Carlyle Group focused on institutional investors in the Midwest and Southern United States. He also is a Fellow of the Economic Club of New York and career coach for Columbia Business School. 

Prior to joining Carlyle, Gairy was a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Asset Management leading business development and private fund distribution to institutional and wealth management clients across the United States and Latin America. Previous roles at J.P. Morgan included corporate strategy, emerging markets portfolio management, and sovereign credit based in the London office. Gairy started his career at Citigroup. 

Gairy earned a B.A. in Economics from Columbia College and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School where he was a Feldberg Fellow. 

Gairy is a member of the Columbia College Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Frederick Douglass Council at the New York Historical Society, and the Columbia College Young Leaders Council. He was a past recipient of the Gerald Sherwin Young Alumni Service Award, the Carlyle DEI Changemakers Award, and included in Diversity MBA’s Top 100 Under 50 Executive Leaders publication. 

Gairy was raised in Atlanta and currently resides in New York City. He enjoys non-fiction literature, pop art, wine, skyscraper architecture, and New York steakhouses.
