Vik Patel

Vik Patel was a senior analyst co-managing a long-short hedge fund portfolio, at Millennium Management, prior to attending Columbia Business School. He began his career in investment banking in the consumer retail group at Bank of America, where he eventually moved to the equity research group covering the consumer, retail, gaming, and lodging sectors. Vik transitioned to covering real estate (REITs) at UBS, and remained focused in this sector during his five years in investment management: first, at Cohen & Steers, the largest REIT dedicated mutual fund, followed by Millennium Management, one of the largest hedge funds in the world. 

Vik was born and raised in the city of Chicago, and attended the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. He was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 in Finance List in 2016 for his accomplishments at the hedge fund, and plans to continue his career in investment management upon graduation. He comes from a large tight-knit family - the youngest of five, with four older sisters. Vik is an amateur boxer, and his other interests include volunteering in the education sector, reading fiction and historical and scientific non-fiction books, fitness, traveling, and Michigan/collegiate sports.
