ADEBISI THOMPSON

Adebisi Thompson is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School, where she is a Feldberg Fellow and a member of The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management.

Before CBS, Adebisi spent six years at Microsoft as a Technical Program Manager. There, she led survey and feedback programs that tracked customer satisfaction across a billion Windows devices.

Adebisi’s passion for technology started at an early age. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, to Nigerian immigrant parents, Adebisi grew up watching her mother and father build careers in computing, an experience that made seeing Black professionals in tech feel normal. Only in college, as one of few Black students in her computer science program, did she realize how much that representation had shaped her own path. Driven by this realization, Adebisi started a YouTube channel about computer science and technology that reached over a million viewers and inspired individuals from other underrepresented communities to pursue careers in tech. At Microsoft, her passion for technology and community intersected, where she served on the Windows + Devices Black at Microsoft steering committee, mentored six Black interns and early-career hires, and co-mentored 16 college students from underserved communities interested in the field.

Adebisi graduated summa cum laude from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Computer Science. At Georgia Tech, she was a part of HexLabs, a nonprofit organization that supports student-run hackathons. As a teaching assistant for Junior Design, she researched software intellectual property cases. The professor she assisted, now an Associate Dean in the College of Computing, used these cases to shape his Computer Law course.

In her free time, she enjoys barre classes, learning about World War II history, and visiting museums to see Impressionist and Pop art.
