EMILY McAULIFFE

Emily is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School, where she is a Feldberg Fellow and Forte Fellow. Prior to CBS, Emily led partnerships and fundraising at Crooked Ideas, Crooked Media’s nonprofit partner. In this role, she served as Crooked Ideas’ climate policy subject matter expert, managing partnerships, leading fundraising strategy, and pitching climate-focused digital content. She also worked as an independent consultant with the Center for American Progress, where she led a six-member team evaluating the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act’s $121 billion in climate and clean energy grant funding, conducting research and interviews and synthesizing insights into a report.  

Previously, Emily held multiple roles in the Biden Administration. She worked at the White House Council on Environmental Quality as an advisor on climate and environmental public engagement strategy. She also served as an advisor at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for external engagement strategies and environmental policy, and had several short-term assignments supporting the Secretary and the Deputy Secretary of Commerce. Emily began her career in environmental policy in Congress, on the U.S. House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, where she drafted legislation and managed committee hearings on complex environmental topics.  

Emily earned her B.A. in Public Policy with a minor in Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University. In her free time, Emily enjoys training for marathons, playing pickup soccer, and doing the New York Times mini crossword puzzle.
