Eric Langerman

Eric is an Associate Director for Barings, based in Charlotte, NC, where he works in the Global Private Finance Group. At Barings, Eric originates, structures, and manages direct principal investments in middle market companies globally throughout all layers of the capital structure. Previously, Eric was a Senior Associate with Sentinel Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm with $2.6 billion in managed assets. He spent four years at Sentinel, where he evaluated, structured, and executed new investments and add-on acquisitions; served as a board observer for six portfolio companies; and played an active role in raising Sentinel’s fifth fund. Eric also founded and served as a co-chair of the Hyde Leadership School’s Young Professionals Committee, which supports the Bronx-based charter school through fundraising and mentorship. Eric began his career as an investment banking analyst at McColl Partners, an M&A advisory firm. 

Eric grew up in Greensboro, NC and received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2008 with a major in Business Administration and a minor in English. Eric received his MBA from Columbia Business School in 2016, where he graduated with Dean’s Honors and Distinction (top 5% of graduating class). He was a recipient of Columbia's Feldberg Fellowship, a full tuition merit scholarship in honor of former Dean Feldberg. 

Eric’s interests include economics, foreign affairs, Tar Heel basketball, barbeque, and golf.
