MAGGIE MONAHAN

Maggie is an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School, where she is a Feldberg Fellow and a Forté Fellow. She aims to develop alternative models of producing theatre to improve worker equity and creative quality.

Before Columbia, Maggie worked as a theatre director exploring the most difficult questions in the public sphere. Her directorial work was seen in New York at the Tank, Theatre Row, 54 Below and New Perspectives Theatre Company; in Chicago at Collaboraction, Rivendell Theatre, Victory Gardens, and Clockwise Theatre; and internationally in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She assistant directed at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, the National Theater of Sarajevo, Audible Theater at the Minetta Lane, and on the first national tours of Escape to Margaritaville and School of Rock.

Simultaneously, Maggie worked as a factchecker and copyeditor for MissionWired, a Democratic digital fundraising firm, and ran a small tutoring and college counseling business. 

Maggie graduated magna cum laude and Lambda Pi Eta from Northwestern University with a B.A. in theatre and political science. While at Northwestern, she completed a certificate for political science achievement in a foreign language at La Pontificia Universidad Catolica in Chile.

Maggie was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and spends her free time visiting Major League Baseball stadiums and listening to Dolly Parton.
